‘He is that good’ – Liverpool told they could win the Premier League with one midfield signing

Former Liverpool midfielder Don Hutchison has told Jurgen Klopp who he must sign, though it could prove difficult

Former Liverpool midfielder Don Hutchison has told the club they have a chance at winning the Premier League – but only if they sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Jurgen Klopp’s midfield is currently a little light in the defensive area, a fact that was proven by their showing over 90 minutes against Bayern Munich on Wednesday. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones have both been filling in the deep-lying roles away from their regular positions due to the departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.

Both Romeo Lavia and Andre Trindade have been noted as potential signings, the former subject of a rejected second offer from Southampton while talks opened for the latter on Tuesday.

Taking to Twitter, Hutchison made his current stance clear, and it didn’t involve either midfielders. The 52-year-old, who now works as a pundit and co-commentator, believes Manchester City are “obvious” favourites to claim a fourth top-flight title in succession.
