The first managerial change of the new Premier League season has occurred before a ball has even been kicked
Wolves have confirmed Gary O’Neil as their new manager ahead of the opening weekend of the 2023/24 Premier League season.
The West Midlands club last night confirmed they had parted company with Julen Lopetegui just days before their first game of the campaign, having reached a mutual agreement for this exit to occur.
O’Neil has been selected as the Spaniard’s successor and arrives on the back of an impressive spell in charge of Bournemouth last campaign, during which he comfortably guided the Cherries to safety after being appointed in November.
The 40-year-old was surprisingly sacked by the South Coast side towards the end of June to recruit Andoni Iraola, who had spent three years in charge of Rayo Vallecano prior to this appointment.
