Round-up of what has been reported on the future of Romeo Lavia after three failed Liverpool bids and a fresh move from Chelsea
Liverpool’s pursuit of Romeo Lavia may have taken a new twist with Chelsea now on the scene after making a £48 million move for the Southampton midfielder.
The Reds have been chasing the 19-year-old this summer, seeing him as a potential long-term replacement for Fabinho who recently left to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad.
Three bids were lodged from Anfield – first totalling £38m, then £42m and this week £46m. But all were rejected by Southampton who are said to be holding out for £50m.
It remains to be seen what happens with Chelsea’s offer – which itself falls below the Saints asking price. Sky Sports have already suggested it will be turned down.
