Moises Caicedo has reportedly chosen Chelsea over Liverpool despite the Reds agreeing a British record £110m fee for the midfielder
Messages from Moises Caicedo’s homeland hint to the midfielder that he has an error of judgement in picking Chelsea over Liverpool as his next destination.
It is far from over but it is hard to dispute the fact the Brighton man’s transfer saga will go in history, perhaps not even as the tale of the year – or decade for that matter.
Liverpool arrived to trump Chelsea’s interest with a British record £110m offer, Roberto De Zerbi washed his hands of the player ahead of the return of the Premier League’s return whilst Jurgen Klopp even personally confirmed the agreement, only for Caicedo and his representatives to allegedly jump ship and falter ahead of what would have been a medical, the reason being West London was the player’s preferred landing place.
Explaining this to Caicedo’s native Ecuador on Twitter were the sports news outlet Teradeportes, who wrote: “Moisés Caicedo’s group, at the player’s request, has spoken with Chelsea to give them the opportunity to resubmit a new proposal that meets the expectations of the owner of his Brighton ticket.
