Andre, a midfielder for Brazil, has been a target for Liverpool as they continue to restructure their midfield options this summer.
Andre, a Brazilian international, says he is pleased to be associated with Liverpool, but he adds that for the time being, his attention is still on Fluminense.
The Reds started pursuing the 22-year-old midfielder as they continued their summer midfield makeover, which previously included the additions of Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Wataru Endu.
Liverpool and Fluminense began preliminary negotiations earlier this month regarding the player, and according to reports in Brazil, Liverpool is planning a bid of approximately £25 million plus add-ons.
The Brazilian team, however, is convinced that they won’t let Andre depart during the summer transfer window given the fact that they are still hoping to win the Copa Libertadores, the South American version of the Champions League, for the first time ever.
Although the news of offers from Europe has been welcomed, the player is not allowing himself to be sidetracked. Sporting Lisbon and Fulham were both keeping tabs on the teenager in January.
According to Andre, receiving proposals is obviously common, according to the Brazilian news source Globo Esporte. “Even more so considering how well the team is performing, winning the Libertadores, and being close to first in the Brasileria (Brazilian championship).
