However, after the club appealed on Monday, the decision was overturned by the Football Association, who reviewed the evidence through an independent regulatory commission and gave Mac Allister the chance to attend the match against Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Sunday afternoon. . An FA statement reads: “An independent regulatory body has lifted the three-match suspension of Alexis Mac Allister following a claim for his wrongful dismissal. The Liverpool midfielder was sent off for gross foul play during the Premier League match against Bournemouth on Saturday 19th August”.
