Liverpool is apparently concentrating all of their efforts on acquiring Ryan Gravenberch after their counter-move to acquire a Brazilian star fizzled out.
This summer, the Merseysiders have already brought in three midfielders, with Waturu Endo joining Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis MacAllister at Anfield. Klopp still aims to add one more player to his team before the window slams shut after losing six people from their mix.
Just over eight days remain for the Reds to complete the acquisition of summer signing No. 4 and provide Klopp with the resources necessary for what they anticipate will be a return to form this campaign. Liverpool’s start has been good with four points after two games.
But with the games expected to come thick and fast in the near future, Klopp will need at least one more player to come in to keep his team from losing steam.
To that end, Liverpool is still being connected to a number of players. Cheick Doucoure of Crystal Palace is one name that has been mentioned frequently, although the Reds may not be able to meet the Eagles’ expectations of £70 million.
Liverpool has instead made a €30 million (£25.5 million) offer for Fluminense star Andre this week. Unfortunately, the Brazilian team rejected the offer and let the Reds know they had no interest in selling him. This is true even if the former Brazil international signed a contract and turned down Manchester United in the process.
Liverpool now appears to be examining Doucoure or Gravenberch as potential replacements.
Palace has set a price for their guy, but Bayern seems less willing to part ways with theirs despite having set a price as well.
However, we have made it clear that the Dutchman is eager to transfer after feeling unsatisfied at Bayern Munich.
