A number of Championship teams are showing interest in loaning Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton ahead of a potential transfer.
The 20-year-old’s 2022–23 season was cut short due to foot surgery, and he has just recently resumed full training.
Additionally, according to This is Anfield, a number of clubs have already expressed interest in signing him for the upcoming season on a temporary contract.
The Reds would be happy to approve Morton’s departure as they look to add more midfield reinforcements before the transfer window closes.
The midfielder, who was born in Wirral, excelled while on loan at Blackburn Rovers last season, appearing in 40 Championship games until suffering a foot injury in April.
Although manager John Dahl Tomasson was frequently effusive in his admiration of the teenager during his spell, it is unclear whether the Lancashire club will attempt to bring him back to Ewood Park.
Morton has made nine senior appearances for Liverpool, including two Premier League games.
In December 2021, during a midfield injury crisis, Jurgen Klopp started him in a 2-2 draw at Tottenham Hotspur, marking his final appearance in the English Premier League.
The German told his young charge shortly after that outing: “By the way, Tyler Morton in training, incredible.”
We don’t force him to play as a controlling No. 6 in a Premier League match [as against Tottenham], he now plays as a No. 8.
He is preparing for an 8, which makes others wonder, “Wow, how good is that?!”
