As Darwin Nunez continues to pound on Jurgen Klopp’s door, Alisson has praised the striker following his decisive double against Newcastle and highlighted the counsel he gave the player.
Nunez has not yet been selected for Klopp’s starting lineup this season; instead, the No. 9 overall pick has played 41 minutes off the bench.
However, that passion and intensity were finally able to flow at Newcastle. Newcastle. He only had two shots on goal during his brief 13-minute cameo, but they were both game-winning goals.
His celebrations were sufficient proof of how much it mattered to him, and Klopp conceded that he was “fired up” and will naturally be unhappy “when he’s not starting.”
And Alisson has shared the counsel he always gives to his compatriot from South America, who he understands still “needs time” to develop as a player at the club.
Alisson told LFCTV, “I’m serious, I tell him so often everyone here at Liverpool they love you and they want you to perform well and you need to be patient.
I believe he is conveying that. Although he is being patient, this man is fiery.
“He truly wants to help the team achieve great things, win games, and win trophies. He has a strong desire to play more and make crucial decisions for the team.
“This is the mentality he has because he’s on fire, and I hope he can continue performing like this moving forward.”
Although the 24-year-old is a fan favorite and Alisson is aware of the pressure on Nunez, perseverance is still essential in the opinion of Liverpool’s No. 1.
This man is incredible. Because he is so good, he has a lot of expectations placed on him regarding his performances from fans, from everyone, from his teammates, from the staff, and from everyone else, Alisson continued.
He is incredible and has a ton of potential. He needs time, though, as he is still young. We need to be patient with him and give him the impression that we are truly there to help him.
“We are with him in all of the difficult moments. Everyone loves him, the South Americans are there for him, his teammates are there for him, and I can see his fans too.
“They already yell out his name when he enters a game: ‘Nunez! Nunez’! We also crack a few jokes with him about that.
