Liverpool, down to ten men, defeated Eddie Howe’s team 2-1 at St. James’ Park despite late goals from his team.

Even though we were fantastic, each of our individual performances was outstanding, and the send-off almost worked against us. Everything changes with the second aim, which we didn’t achieve. They were hoping for one moment when Nunez came on, but instead they got two.
The way Sven Botman’s back was deflected into Nunez’s path to score the equalizer is difficult to describe, but it is a fantastic finish. In that situation, we should genuinely accept that we won’t win the game but also shouldn’t lose it.
After losing their captain, Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool continued the match with just 10 players. According to Howe, Trent Alexander-Arnold should have been sent out when he collided with Gordon just seconds after receiving a yellow card for kicking the ball away.
The referee disagreed, despite Howe’s first perception that it was a definite second yellow card.
