Liverpool and Bayern Munich have agreed to a deal worth €45 million (£38.5 million) for Ryan Gravenberch.
The Dutchman has been granted the all-clear to go to Merseyside and sign a five-year contract.
Fourth midfielder signed by Jurgen Klopp this summer, joining Wataru Endo, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Alexis Mac Allister.
Liverpool has long been interested in the 21-year-old, but they were unable to sign him when he just transferred from Ajax to Bavaria.
According to reports, Gravenberch is delighted about the possibility of working with Jurgen Klopp and thinks his playing style would mesh well with the German coach.
The German champions have put him back on the market after a dismal season in Munich, but the Reds’ recruitment team is still confident in the player’s abilities.
In order to complete a move, arrangements are being made for Gravenberch to go to Merseyside as early as Thursday night.
To be eligible to make his Premier League debut this weekend against Aston Villa, he must register by Friday at 12 p.m.
He will become the 12th Dutch player for the Reds, joining fellow countrymen Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo at Anfield.
