Aston Villa will test a crucial player late against Liverpool because of three other injuries.

As he gets ready to lead his Aston Villa team to Anfield, Unai Emery must deal with a number of crucial players’ fitness concerns.

Emi Martinez, the World Cup-winning goalkeeper, will need to pass a late fitness test to see if he can play on Sunday.

The Argentine is currently recovering from a calf injury and has missed the last two games for his team. Villa is optimistic he will be able to play this weekend.

Martinez worked out with his teammates on Friday in preparation for the game, but it has not yet been decided whether he will be available.
Emery stated of his goalie in his pregame remarks, “He trained this morning. If he is going to be available or not, tomorrow’s final training will be crucial. Ideally, absolutely.

Alex Moreno, Jacob Ramsey, and Bertrand Traore are not in the running for a spot because they are still recovering from their own ailments, according to Emery.

On Thursday night, Villa participated in a European match, easily defeating Hibs 8-0 on the road to advance to the group stage of the Europa Conference League.

When the Europa League begins later this month, Liverpool themselves will need to get acclimated to the visitors’ short three-day break before they arrive at Anfield.
