Odilon Kossounou, a defender for Bayer Leverkusen who West Ham attempted but failed to sign this summer, is supposedly a player that Liverpool is contemplating moving for.
Despite being eager to do so, Jurgen Klopp was unable to do so before the transfer market closed on Friday.
While Nathaniel Phillips and Rhys Williams have both been loaned out, the manager is now left with the alternatives of Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, and Joel Matip for center defense.
All of Klopp’s unfinished business will have to wait until January, but it appears that Liverpool is already planning to approach Kossounou during the winter transfer window.
One of the best young defenders in the Bundesliga is the 22-year-old. played 24 league games for Leverkusen last season, contributing to eight clean sheets for his squad.
This season, Kossounou has likewise had a strong start, helping the German team to three victories in a row.
As previously noted, Kossounou was a target for West Ham this summer, but they ultimately had to settle for Konstantinos Mavropanos.
There is undoubtedly a lot of interest in the Leverkusen star, since Arsenal has also been mentioned in connection with him in the past.
