Though there remain four days of speculation over a move to Saudi Arabia, Andy Robertson is confident that Mohamed Salah will stay at Liverpool.
The Saudi Pro League have now officially confirmed that their transfer window will close on Thursday, September 7.
Prior to this, there had been worries that a deadline extension toward the end of the month would leave Premier League teams vulnerable to proposals from the Middle East.
Instead, there are only four days left for clubs like Al-Ittihad to sign players after their informal £150 million offer for Salah was rejected last week.
On Sunday, Salah scored three goals as Liverpool defeated Aston Villa 3-0. Following the game, Robertson was questioned about Salah’s future.
When asked if there were concerns about a fresh offer, he responded, “For us, there’s no concern.
Mohamed Salah “is a Liverpool player for us and we think that’s going to be the case for the foreseeable future,” the statement continued.
This season has now seen four games.
He participated throughout the entire game versus Villa at Anfield, finishing with a hug from Jurgen Klopp as he and his teammates were applauded by the Kop.
He is the epitome of professionalism. He carries out his course of action, said Robertson.
He is a professional and one of the top players in the world. He gives others the opportunity to speak and allows them express their opinions.
But we can see from his performance tonight that he has always been dedicated to Liverpool.
Klopp has been outspoken in his disdain of the Saudi transfer window extending past the Premier League’s deadline day, not just because Salah is the lone player receiving attention.
This summer, Fabinho and Jordan Henderson left to join Al-Ittihad and Al Ettifaq, respectively. A offer for Luis Diaz was also turned down, while Alisson, Ibrahima Konate, and Joe Gomez may also be of interest.
Robertson is adamant, like others in the team, that Liverpool’s case is over and that they should now concentrate on the upcoming season.
