Liverpool fans have been debating whether Mo Salah, who has received a sizable cash offer from Al-Ittihad, would even want to leave.
Money is, of course, the obvious motive—it is, regrettably, what keeps the world turning—but Gareth Roberts and Paul Cope put that to the side when talking about Salah’s future.
Nothing indicates that Salah will go, at least for the time being, and most Reds are in agreement that he won’t.
Roberts said: “We’ve still got this huge uncertainty and we know that Sky Sports, talkSPORT, and the tabloids are just going to keep building it up because it’s the only one (transfer story) they’ve got left now.” Roberts was speaking on The Late Challenge.
Since the transfer window for the Saudi Pro League is still open till September 7, numerous news outlets have reported on transfers.
Roberts continued, “There seems to be a lot of contradicting information right now with the Mo stuff, and it kind of feels like it’s going to stay like that until Thursday, when we can breathe in one direction or the other.
He isn’t! He continues to soar, and how has this season begun for him? In a word, flying.
Does he seem in shape? He appears to be in better shape than ever before.
Salah’s legacy at Liverpool could be tarnished if he leaves at this time, Roberts continued. Why would you want to s**t all over your Liverpool legacy, the game-going Red questioned?
You rank among the club’s top five goal scorers ever. You can still surpass it, and Liverpool can still help you succeed.
“You know, you’d semi-retire there (in Saudi Arabia). In terms of organization, facilities, and other things of that nature, it appears to be a complete s**t show behind the scenes.
