Liverpool hires a new contractor for the £80 million Anfield Road project as an update on reduced capabilities is revealed
Raynor Rowen and Liverpool have reached an agreement for Liverpool to pick up the incomplete stand project.
Liverpool has a contract with the building business Raynor Rowen that will enable the reconstruction of Anfield Road End to proceed.
Liverpool legally took control of the site after Buckingham Group went into administration earlier this week. The company had ceased operations as of August 17 due to unresolvable financial issues that put a stop to all of the company’s projects, and Liverpool set out right away to find a replacement company and subcontractors to minimize the impact of the delay.
Following discussions, Liverpool hired Preston-based Raynor Rowen and a number of other subcontractors to finish the £80 million renovation, which would increase the capacity by 7,000 to 61,000. Raynor Rowen had previously worked with the club on the £500,000 Kop Fan Bar redevelopment project in 2018.
Raynor Rowen will now evaluate the construction program and work toward a revised time frame in light of the fact that some workers have already returned to the site this week.
According to a club statement, work will now start to thoroughly examine the construction schedule, and Rayner Rowen will quickly collaborate with our internal team to establish a new project completion schedule that will provide us assurance about capacity and phasing.
“We will provide updates as soon as feasible on this amended completion schedule. Some employees have since returned to the location to do some urgent work.
