Michael Edwards returns as the newest transfer news involves Mohamed Salah and Liverpool.
Mohamed Salah’s continued presence at Anfield and Michael Edwards’ comeback as a new venture is disclosed are your Liverpool headlines.
Michael Edwards will return in a new project with an ex-Liverpool director.
After leaving his position as Liverpool’s sporting director, Michael Edwards plans to return to the athletic world.
The 44-year-old will join Dr. Ian Graham, the Reds’ former director of research, at his new company, Ludonautics, as a non-executive director, according to The Athletic.
The information puts a temporary halt to rumors that Edwards will play again after leaving his position at Anfield in 2021 and making room for Julian Ward to take over.
After playing for Tottenham Hotspur and Portsmouth before joining Liverpool in 2011, Edwards was rumored to be on the short list for managerial positions at Manchester United and Newcastle United, but those positions never materialized.
But the Reds anticipate that the Saudi Pro League would show renewed interest in their Egyptian forward the following season.
Salah was not available for transfer, according to Liverpool, despite rumors of interest from Al-Ittihad that materialized just 24 hours before the Premier League deadline last Friday.
The Reds swiftly rejected the Saudi team’s official offer, which was for £150 million in total.
Al-Ittihad was expected to return with another offer in excess of £200 million because the transfer deadline in Saudi Arabia isn’t until Thursday night at 10 p.m.
