Now let’s get ready for more After Flick’s firing, links to Germany from Jurgen Klopp
This is a forewarning to be ready for Jurgen Klopp to once again be linked to the Germany position after Hansi Flick was fired. Spoiler alert: it will all be nonsense.
You can almost hear the joyous rubbing of hands as the chance arises for Klopp to be heavily connected to taking over as manager of the German men’s national team, a position that is currently empty.
We’ve been in this situation innumerable times before.
If you do see it, however, be sure to take it with a grain of salt because Germany is now looking for Flick’s replacement after removing him from his position just hours after Wataru Endo’s Japan handed his team a 4-1 loss.
After succeeding Joachim Low in 2021, Flick has overseen four losses in their past five games and 12 victories in 25 games; interim manager Rudi Voller will take over.
Next summer, Germany will host the men’s Euros, so they’ll be looking for the perfect replacement. Klopp’s name has long been synonymous with this, and it undoubtedly will be once more.
The national team has, however, made numerous approaches to the Liverpool manager over the years, and it wasn’t until June that Klopp’s agent, Marc Kosicke, insisted: “This is not a topic for us at all.”
With a contract that lasts until 2026, the 56-year-old has insisted that he has work to do at Liverpool and will see it out as planned.
When asked about the Germany position back in 2021, Klopp responded, “It’s straightforward. “You sign a contract and follow the terms of that agreement. At Mainz and Dortmund, I adhered to my contracts.
Even if some try to make it sound like it would be a possibility, this position won’t have changed, and he won’t leave Anfield.
