Less than 36 hours before the team travels to Wolves, four of Liverpool’s senior players are scheduled to return from international duty, a concern Jurgen Klopp has already brought up.
Aston Villa was easily defeated by the Reds, who began the 2023–24 season with 10 points from a potential 12.
While we anxiously await players’ unharmed returns after international games, there is always a possibility of injury. However, the length of time between games can frequently cause the manager logistical problems.
The Reds’ comeback to club football will begin this weekend with a trip to Wolves on Saturday around lunchtime. However, some of Klopp’s team members who are returning will have more rest time than others.
The South American players for Liverpool will have very little time to return to Merseyside before the club departs for Molineux since they will be participating in World Cup qualifying matches from Tuesday evening until the wee hours of Wednesday (BST).
After the 3-0 victory over Aston Villa, the manager expressed his fear that four of his players might not have enough time to recover before leaving for their international commitments.
The manager told LFCTV, “Now that it’s the international break, and roughly 48 hours after our South Americans play somewhere else on the other end of the world, we play against Wolverhampton Wanderers.”
It will therefore be difficult, but we must ensure that we are prepared and that we will give it our all.
Tuesday night at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., respectively, Argentina and Uruguay are scheduled to play Bolivia and Ecuador. Alexis Mac Allister and Darwin Nunez are anticipated to play.
Alisson’s match against Peru with Brazil is scheduled to begin at 3 am, while Luis Diaz’s match against Chile with Colombia will start at 1.30 am.
The team will travel to Wolves on Friday before the Saturday midday match, so once travel time is taken into account, the South Americans will probably only be in Merseyside for less than 36 hours.
The manager will be hoping to continue where his squad left off to make it four straight Premier League victories, regardless of whether it affects team selection or performance.
