Jurgen Klopp downplays Liverpool’s midfield options as “luxury”

Ryan Gravenberch is making his debut at Anfield, while Thiago is still traveling back, so according to Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool must use every available midfielder.
The Reds haven’t lost in a week thanks to back-to-back 3-1 victories over LASK and West Ham, which they followed up with a victory over Wolves.
As the pressure mounts at the top of the Premier League, Sunday’s victory against West Ham made it seven games without a loss this year.
On that same day, Klopp started Gravenberch at Anfield for the first time, and Wataru Endo, Cody Gakpo, and Diogo Jota, who scored the goal, all came off the bench.
Thiago, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Harvey Elliott were not present, and Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Curtis Jones are currently the trio of first choice.
When questioned whether he considered it a “luxury” of options after the game, Klopp responded that it was necessary.
Luxury is what we require, he remarked.
There are currently four competitions, and trust me, I spoke with David Moyes about it as well. David participated in that last year. Constantly, Thursday through Sunday is a difficult one.
“If you play in the Champions League, you might occasionally play on Tuesday before moving on to Saturday or Sunday, or vice versa.
“The difference is now absolutely evident; you don’t have much time between Thursday and Sunday.
“We must adjust to that. We absolutely need the entire squad for that.
“I mentioned that after the match. I admired the positive energy that each participant brought when they entered the game.
“To really get into the groove quickly and make a difference is absolutely top notch.
But as Klopp points out, he will require players like Endo, Gravenberch, Thiago, and Stefan Bajcetic in the next weeks and months, with Liverpool’s upcoming match serving as a great example.
After making 11 changes for the Europa League opening against LASK and eight more changes on Sunday, the manager is set to rotate liberally once more when Leicester is the visiting team in the League Cup.
If Liverpool want to win on all four fronts, that “luxury,” as it was described, is crucial.
