The sister of defender Billy Koumetio, Yzoire, has joined the ranks of Liverpool’s women’s squad in a move that keeps the club’s support inside the family.
Koumetio has made two first-team appearances in the five years since moving to Merseyside from French club US Orleans.
The 20-year-old played the first half of the previous season with Austria Vienna before being loaned out to USL Dunkerque in his home France.
However, the Koumetio family has renewed its agreement with Liverpool, and the center-back’s sister, Yzoire Koumetio, has joined the club’s women’s team.
The teenager has joined the academy ranks after previously playing for Chassieu Decines FC in France.

The kid, who was formerly with Chassieu Decines FC in France, has joined Liverpool FC Women’s academy ranks, the club said on Monday.
Koumetio is anticipated to play for the U21s, and teammates Aleesha Collins, Charlie Chadwick, and Sophia McBeth are among those wishing her well.
It happens after the FA granted Liverpool a Category 1 license for their women’s academy in April.
By 2025–2026, all 24 clubs in the Women’s Super League and Championship must establish Professional Game Academies, with the Reds’ doing so this year.
After defeating Man City over two legs in the semi-final and defeating Tottenham 2-0, Liverpool U21s won the WSL Academy League Plate last season.
