On Wednesday night, Liverpool will face Leicester in the League Cup opener, and the manager must deal with several fitness questions.
Last season’s competition saw the Reds lose to Man City in the round of 16, and they’ll be hoping to do better this time around.
As is customary for League Cup news conferences, Pep Lijnders spoke to the media before the game and provided an update on the health of several prominent players.
Check out who is available and who is absent for the match against the Foxes below:
Trent Alexander-Arnold is not available due to hamstring pain.
Unavailable is Thiago (hip).
Trent Alexander-Arnold has resumed team training, but Pepijn Lijnders believes the right-back won’t be ready for Leicester’s visit just yet.
He has been sidelined since the 3-0 victory over Aston Villa due to a hamstring issue, and it appears the weekend match against Tottenham is a better candidate for him to make a comeback.
Prior to the game on Wednesday night, Thiago has not fully reunited with the Kirkby team and is therefore still unavailable for selection.
Conor Bradley is battling a chronic back condition and won’t be able to play until at least November.
