According to assistant manager Pepijn Lijnders, Mohamed Salah is a “special” player who possesses the skills to lead Liverpool without donning the captain’s armband.
The No. 11 for Liverpool has scored in each of his past 13 games after starting the season with four goals and four assists in just seven outings.
Even if he has watch from the sidelines as the Reds meet Leicester in the League Cup, the records will keep falling for a player in unstoppable form.
However, there shouldn’t be any complaints if he has the same effect as he had at LASK!
When asked how Salah often responds to the decision to take a break on Wednesday, Lijnders used the chance to pour praise on the winger.
“He continues to set records. On our hands is a very, very special player, according to Lijnders. “A leader and mentor as well.
“You people saw the talent and everything, but I saw him entering the building, at the gym, and arriving early.
“I see a real professional with lots of experience, and I see a man who can lead this team without being the captain, and he does that.”
After a significant makeover, Salah was elevated to the club’s executive committee over the summer. Andy Robertson and Alisson also served as backups for Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Lijnders remarked, “It’s special that he’s here with us. “It’s unique how he does it.
“We should value these players in every game they play at Anfield and every game they play away for our away fans.
“He’s this guy who can produce a lot out of nothing, and he does it repeatedly. They’re yours to have, but they’re not decent people. Simply put, Mo is a wonderful, wonderful person.
“I spoke with him yesterday [Monday] and told him, ‘I love it when you smile, Mo.'”
“Because I know that the ball will grin when he smiles inside the building and outside, and he will determine the games for us.
