Liverpool

Liverpool will be ‘first in the queue’ to sign Fluminense midfielder Andre Trindade in January.

The Reds have been heavily linked with a mid-season move for the 22-year-old, having seen his club push back any attempts to buy him in the summer.

And according to journalist Graeme Bailey, Fluminense certainly won’t stand in Andre’s way this time. Speaking on 90min’s Talking Transfers podcast, Bailey claimed that the Brazil international is certain to leave, with Liverpool very much in the driving seat

Many people think he’s the best defensive midfielder in the Brazilian top flight at the moment,” says the journalist.

“It’s our understanding that they [Liverpool] were in attendance for the Copa Libertadores semi-final [last week]. They would have been delighted for Andre to see that he helped inspire a 2-1 win over Internacional in the second-leg. It got them through to the final where they will play Boca Juniors.
