Journalist Paul Brown has accused Farhad Moshiri of being responsible for some “absolutely appalling” decisions during his time at the Everton helm.
Moshiri
Should it be ratified, it will bring an end to a tumultuous Goodison Park tenure for Moshiri, who first invested in the club in 2016
er), former Daily Express reporter Brown said: “I think Moshiri’s decision-making has been absolutely appalling and it’s quite right that people are blaming him for the current state of affairs.
“He’s gone from a position where he was bragging that money was no object and he would do whatever he could to make Everton successful again, to a position where he has completely wiped his hands of it, and will be walking away with next to nothing.
“Considering how much money he’s blown on this club and I think that is a terrible indictment of the man himself and what he’s done to this club.”
Evertonians will pretty much agree in unison with these comments.
While questions will rightly be asked of prospective new owners 777 Partners, the American investment fund can surely be no worse than Moshiri?
The sale is on course to go through before the end of 2023 all going well, just in time for the January transfer window.
Everton have had little to celebrate on the field for a while now, having been embroiled in back-to-back relegation battles – and another may follow this season.
The players and various managers cannot be devoid of blame entirely, but it is clear that Everton have been terribly run for a while now.
Moshiri has invested more than £750million in Everton since 2016, but there is so very little to show for it.
Let’s just hope that 777 Partners have better success if they get the green light to take over from the British-Iranian in the coming weeks.
