Luis Diaz’s management calls his aspirations “not normal.”

Since March 2022, Luis Diaz has only scored one goal for his nation, and as expectations rise, he has been told that the team’s burden does not “weigh” only on him.
Last year, Diaz’s season was cut short by injuries, as he dealt with back-to-back knee problems that prevented him from playing for both his club and his country.
Even though the electric winger has only scored one goal and provided one assist for the Reds so far this season, he is still regarded as a game-changing player.
With just one goal in his last seven appearances for Colombia, the burden of expectation for his nation falls on him somewhat differently, and the pressure to perform is only increasing.
Prior to games against Uruguay and Ecuador, Colombia’s manager, Nestor Lorenzo, has emphasized that they “don’t want him to be the saviour” and that goals are not the only sign of a strong performance.
As reported by AS, Lorenzo stated of Diaz, “We don’t have the formula.” “The first thing we did was warn him that he shouldn’t carry the weight of the squad on his shoulders or feel burdened by it.
People anticipate four goals from him per game, which is not typical.
“His performance has been good, and we believe that with practice and information from his teammates, he will get even better.
“In football you need partnerships, and in two [international breaks] he was injured and has missed those games that would have given him a little more chemistry, but we have faith in him, in his position and in his function.
He is not the savior, and neither do we. I observe that if he does not score two goals, he did not perform well, but that is untrue. He performs every three days in Liverpool and once a month here.
Jurgen Klopp will undoubtedly treasure those words.
The sixth-most minutes of any Red this season have been played by Diaz, who has appeared in 10 of Liverpool’s 11 games so far. His 683 minutes played this season are already almost half of what he played in all of 2022/23.
