Nottingham Forest were faced with an impossible task of replacing £50 million man Brennan Johnson after his departure to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Nottingham Forest FC - Forest complete signing of Anthony Elanga

The Forest Academy graduate left the club for a club-record deal, with Steve Cooper losing one of his most influential first-team players.

However, it seems as though the Reds may have already signed the perfect replacement for the departed Welshman.

Cooper and his team purchased winger Anthony Elanga from fellow Premier League side Manchester United for £15 million this summer.

Elanga looks to be the perfect Johnson replacement

Although he’s only been at the club a number of months, the 21-year-old has already showcased his qualities to the Reds faithful.

The ‘electric‘ wideman already has one goal and three assists in his first ten games for the Reds, with his direct dribbling and pace catching the eye.

He’s only been utilised as an impact player for Forest so far, however, his performances have given fans reason to be positive.
