Mason Rudolph could start for the Steelers against the Ravens, although Mike Tomlin has not stated as much.
The starting quarterback for the Steelers in their regular-season finale against the Ravens on Saturday is still up in the air. The team is still vying for a postseason spot.
The subject of whether Mason Rudolph, who has guided Pittsburgh to back-to-back victories, will start on Saturday at Baltimore was not addressed by Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.
“Next week, we’ll talk about that. We’re just grateful for the win right now, and we’ll give you guys something to talk about,” Tomlin stated.
Although Rudolph has performed admirably, much better than either Mitchell Trubisky, who replaced Kenny Pickett after the latter’s injury, or Pickett himself, Tomlin was reserved when he talked about Rudolph’s performance in Sunday’s victory over the Seahawks.
Tomlin remarked, “I thought he did a nice job.”
It’s difficult to accept, realistically, that Tomlin doesn’t think Rudolph is his best quarterback in order to defeat the Ravens. He’s not saying that yet, though.
