Aiyuk would be the go-to player on the Patriots in the passing game.
They could afford to pay him so much because they would toss the ball to him over 150 times in a season.
It would make sense for the 49ers to transfer Brandon Aiyuk to a team like the Patriots if he refuses to make concessions during his contract discussions.
This is the reason. The Patriots don’t have an expensive quarterback or any other wide receivers, so they can afford to give Aiyuk whatever he wants. In a few weeks, they will select the starting quarterback. Setting up that player for success with an established, exceptional wide receiver like Aiyuk is the best way to do it.

Aiyuk will never be the go-to man on the 49ers. He will be among the men. He won’t ever catch more than 120 passes in a season from them.
The 49ers would obviously like to keep Aiyuk, but they are unable to give him as much playing time as he would like, and they have already paid a huge sum of money for Deebo Samuel.
In addition, they plan to offer Brock Purdy a huge extension for the upcoming season. Since no other team would trade for Samuel and pay him what he wanted, he eventually made a deal with the 49ers when he was eligible for an extension. Aiyuk might be an exception. It’s likely that Aiyuk may earn more money with a team without Deebo Samuel’s deal.
Which takes us full circle to the Patriots. Both their second- and third-round picks are highly valued. The 49ers could use one of those to draft Aiyuk’s replacement, or they could transfer those to them in exchange for Aiyuk. It would seem that both teams would benefit from this trade.
