The secondary is not one of the New England Patriots’ weak points on the squad.
The club worked admirably and had a significant influence last season despite the injuries to several of its greatest players. With his health restored, things might even be better in 2024 than they were in 2023.
Kyle Dugger, a safety for the Patriots, was one of the secondary players ranked in the top 10 at his position. He ranked as the eighth best safety in the entire league according to ESPN.
“In the mould of [Kyle] Hamilton, Dugger is best when close to the line of scrimmage but can play — and punish — in the open field, too,” noted Jeremy Fowler. “He’s grabbed nine interceptions over the past three seasons, including two for touchdowns, and he finished last season with a career-high 107 tackles.”
Additionally, Fowler released a comment on Dugger from an unnamed NFL executive.
“He’s always been physical and a smart football player, but he’s become more of a complete player every year,” the manager stated. “He will physically strike you.”
This offseason, the organisation honoured Dugger for his outstanding play. To keep him in New England, the team inked him to a 4-year contract this summer that could be worth up to $58 million.
Dugger gives the Patriots defence everything he has, making him one of the most versatile players in the league. He will be essential to keeping things together on that side of the ball as we move from the Belichick to the Mayo era.
