As the top seed, Oregon has earned a first-round bye and will face the winner of the matchup between the No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes and the No. 9 Tennessee Volunteers. This game is scheduled to take place at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, on January 1, 2025.
The expanded 12-team playoff format includes the top five ranked conference champions and seven at-large teams. The top four conference champions receive first-round byes, while the remaining teams compete in the first round at campus sites.
