Mitchell & Mobley Shine as Cavaliers Crush Knicks in 142-105 Blowout
The Cleveland Cavaliers delivered a dominant performance on Friday night, steamrolling the New York Knicks 142-105 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Led by Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley, the Cavs put on an offensive clinic and showcased their defensive strength in one of their most impressive wins of the season.
Mitchell was electric, scoring a game-high 34 points while shooting efficiently from the field. His three-point shooting and ability to create plays kept the Knicks’ defense on its heels. Meanwhile, Mobley was a force in the paint, contributing 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 blocks, solidifying his presence on both ends of the floor.
The Cavaliers set the tone early, racing to a double-digit lead in the first quarter. By halftime, they had extended their advantage to 25 points, leaving the Knicks with little hope of a comeback. Cleveland’s ball movement was exceptional, racking up 30 assists as they sliced through New York’s defense with ease.
Darius Garland also had a strong outing, finishing with 18 points and 9 assists, while Jarrett Allen controlled the glass with 14 rebounds. Off the bench, Caris LeVert provided a spark, chipping in 16 points.
For the Knicks, Jalen Brunson led the way with 24 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Cleveland’s relentless attack. Julius Randle and RJ Barrett struggled to find their rhythm as New York shot under 40% from the field.
With this win, the Cavaliers continue their push for a higher playoff seed, while the Knicks will look to bounce back in their next matchup.
