In a resolute commitment to elevating Penn State’s football program, Athletic Director Pat Kraft has declared his unwavering dedication to securing a College Football Playoff (CFP) national championship for the Nittany Lions. Since assuming his role on July 1, 2022, Kraft has been vocal about his championship aspirations, emphasizing that mere participation is insufficient.
“I’m here to win a national championship. We’re here to win national championships, and we’re here to do it the right way,” Kraft asserted during a press conference.
Under Kraft’s leadership, Penn State has demonstrated significant progress. In the 2023-24 academic year, the university celebrated a national championship in wrestling, secured seven conference titles, and saw 22 teams participate in NCAA Championships, the WBIT, or bowl games.
Kraft’s strategic vision includes not only athletic excellence but also the holistic development of student-athletes. He has been instrumental in enhancing facilities, expanding mental health resources, and fostering an environment conducive to both academic and athletic success.
As the Nittany Lions prepare for the upcoming season, the anticipation among the Penn State community is palpable. With Kraft’s steadfast commitment and a talented roster, the pursuit of a CFP national championship is more than a goal—it’s a resolute mission.
