Gary O’Neil issues Pedro Neto statement as Liverpool ‘scouts’ forward amid transfer links

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Gary O’Neil has responded to the transfer speculation surrounding Pedro Neto. The talented 23-year-old winger has been in impressive form this season, attracting interest from several clubs around the Premier League.

With six assists in nine league games, Neto has caught the attention of scouts from Liverpool and Aston Villa, according to the Birmingham Mail. Arsenal, which has been a long-time admirer of the player, is also said to be monitoring his situation. Additionally, the report says there are rumors of interest from the Saudi Pro League and Atlético Madrid.

However, O’Neil remains unfazed by the transfer talk and reassures fans that Neto is happy at Molineux. In a recent appearance on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, O’Neil expressed his confidence in the player’s commitment to Wolves.

He stated: “He’s incredibly happy at Wolves. He’s enjoying his football and he’s rediscovered some good form.” O’Neil acknowledged that Neto had faced challenges in the past due to injuries and loss of form but emphasized that he is now performing at his best. The manager also highlighted the player’s settled nature and affirmed the club’s support in helping him achieve his goals.

Neto joined Wolves from Braga in 2019 and recently reached a milestone of 100 Premier League appearances during the team’s 3-2 victory over Bournemouth. His performances this season have been crucial to Wolves’ success, and fans have been impressed by his contributions on the pitch.

It is clear that Neto’s talent has not gone unnoticed, with top clubs expressing their interest in acquiring his services. However, O’Neil’s comments suggest that Wolves are determined to hold on to their star player. The manager’s reassurance about Neto’s happiness and commitment to the club should provide some relief to some Wolves fans who may have been concerned about the transfer rumors, though he was hardly going to admit that his star man could leave.

Liverpool.com says: As the season progresses, it will be interesting to see how Neto continues to develop and whether he can maintain his impressive form. His performances will undoubtedly attract further attention from potential suitors, but for now, he is best where he is. Liverpool could one day be keen but looks well-stocked in attack for now.
