Right-hand man to Jurgen Klopp spoke to the media on Tuesday as Liverpool were ready to start their League Cup run in 2023/24.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has fully returned to training, but it doesn’t appear that he will play in the League Cup on Wednesday night.
The right-back withdrew from the England team for their most recent international matches due to a hamstring injury that has kept him out of action since the Reds’ 3-0 victory over Aston Villa at the beginning of the month.
Pepijn Lijnders said in his pre-Leicester press conference that Alexander-Arnold will be “too early” for him to return following the visit from Leicester. Alexander-Arnold missed the victories over Wolves, LASK, and West Ham while he fought his way back to fitness.
The 24-year-old is more likely to come back out on the field this weekend when he travels to Tottenham.
On Wednesday night, he will have to look on for the fourth straight game as he continues to recover, but it seems like we won’t have to wait too much longer.
