General manager Ryan Poles of the Chicago Bears still has his sights set on finding a strong pass-rusher to line up beside Montez Sweat in the front seven.
This isn’t the deepest draft class at the position, which is one of the reasons the Bears aggressively sent a second-round pick to Washington in exchange for Sweat during the trade deadline.
Although there’s always a chance the Bears use their No. 9 overall pick to acquire a top pass-rusher like Alabama’s Dallas Turner or Penn State’s Chop Robinson, there’s a case to be made that the Poles would be better served by selecting an offensive tackle like Olu Fashanu or the best available wide receiver to complete Caleb Williams’ receiving corps, which already features playmakers Keenan Allen and D.J. Moore. Even if the Bears decide to take a different route with their second top-10 pick, the Bears can still select a productive pass-rusher.
