Following the rejection of the Al-Hilal proposal, Luis Diaz said he “wouldn’t change a thing” at Liverpool.
While other players were taken aback by the wealth in Saudi Arabia, Luis Diaz is “really happy” at Liverpool and “wouldn’t change a thing.”
The Saudi Pro League’s transfer window shuts on Thursday, and there are still persistent rumors of a second offer from Al-Ittihad for Mohamed Salah.
It happens after two Liverpool players—Fabinho to Al-Ittihad and Jordan Henderson to Al Ettifaq—were already sold to Saudi teams, while Roberto Firmino joined Al-Ahli on a free transfer.
There seems to be a shotgun approach to hiring from the clubs that are owned by the Public Investment Fund of the Saudi royal family, with Diaz the target of a bid in July.
The reports of a £43.3 million proposal for the Colombian player were believed to be accurate, but Liverpool rejected the offer outright.
Diaz, who has started all four games so far and scored against Chelsea and Bournemouth, said he “wouldn’t change a single thing” about the start to the season.
Being at such a large club as this one is something I’m incredibly proud of, the 26-year-old added.
“I feel immensely happy, at peace, and grateful to be here. I make an effort to always have fun.
“I play with some big-name players who I used to watch on TV and have some fantastic team members.
So, for me, this is truly like a dream come true. Let’s hope I can continue to realize even more aspirations and maintain the triumphs I’ve already had.
“I feel happy to be at this fantastic club, and I wouldn’t change a single thing about this amazing experience,” he continued.
“Sometimes it even gives you goosebumps knowing that as you step out onto the pitch you’ll be able to experience these incredible people and this great stadium, which is always up and right behind us and giving us support”.
